On 9th July, 2024, an Assessment Team from the ECOWAS Commission was joined by the National Early Warning and Response Mechanism Coordinating Centre (NEWRMC) Sierra Leone to pay a courtesy call on the Chief Minister. The visit underscores the importance of the Centre and the integrated approaches required in early warning systems.
The Ecowas Assessment Team together with the Director and Lead Analyst of the Centre also paid a courtesy call on the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development (MOPED) in Sierra Leone which was represented by the Deputy Minister of MOPED Rev. Jonathan Titus Williams, marking a significant step towards enhancing collaborative efforts in reiterating Government’s commitment in strengthening the early warning and early response mechanism geared towards identifying and forestalling/mitigating threats to human security and peace in Sierra Leone.
