Mandate
With reference to the Executive Order, NEWRMC is established under the law with the mandate to:
- Collect, collate and analyse data or information provided by public institutions, the ECOWAS Commission & other sources bordering on threats posed to peace and human security.
- Undertake strategic research on issues that pose threat to peace and human security.
- Develop synergies among institutions working in the fight against all forms of human insecurity & organized crimes.
- Recommend/ propose/track response efforts
Collaboration and Cooperation
Collaboration is part of the Centre’s core values and a strategy utilise to enhance productivity. Sierra Leone prides itself on its ability to ensure state institutions effectively collaborate and cooperate on state’s matters. The Centre is taking advantage of this unique ability to strengthen its network through effective inter-agency partnership and international cooperation. This promotes inclusiveness, ownership and eliminates unhealthy rivalry as well as unwarranted suspicion.
