Conflict mitigation initiative
The centres are products of the ECOWAS Heads of States and Governments’ adoption of the Strategic Framework during their 45th ordinary session on 14th July, 2014, in Accra, Ghana. Few years afterwards, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Liberia, Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau established theirs.
Director of Centre
Human security and peace are both among the most important things we need for sustainable development in Sierra Leone.
Maintaining peace and enhancing human security is our collective responsibility as a government and as a people. Therefore, “we must boost the power of prediction” (UN) and strengthen existing response mechanism to make response efforts easier, more effective and less expensive.
Who we are
We are the National Centre of Sierra Leone that provides early warning relating to human security and peace to the Government of Sierra Leone and ECOWAS Commision in the five thematic areas.

Early Response means taking proactive measures or initiatives in a timely manner which aims at mitigating, reducing or preventing the occurrence or manifestation of any threat, harmful or horrific incident. It saves life and cost.
