On 13th June, 2024, the Centre held its regular Analysts Briefing Session with stakeholders at its Situation Room, moderated by the Director of Centre, Mrs Francess Nyuma.
This month’s session was facilitated by the Good Governance and Human Rights Analyst, and borders on ‘Seeming leakages in the Goods and Services Tax Collection System’, which pose threat to economic security, and invariably affect human security. The stakeholders include technocrats from the National Revenue Authority (NRA), the Office of National Security (ONS), the National Public Procurement Authority (NPPA) and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
After presentation of a well-researched piece, there were extensive discussions/ deliberations on the subject matter which tendered in several SMART recommendations (geared toward mitigating the threats posed), which shall be forwarded for possible action to the Government through the Chairman of the NEWRMC Statutory Board and the NRA leadership.
There was an extensive discussions/ deliberation between technocrats in the above-named reputable institutions leading to several actionable recommendations been proffered, all geared toward mitigating the threats posed to Human security and peace.
